Serving as Chairman of the Transportation Permit Efficiency and Accountability Committee (TPEAC) has allowed me to provide leadership on permit streamlining, an area I care passionately about. The work of this committee will save the State of Washington billions of dollars on transportation projects by eliminating delays and reducing the cost of mitigation while improving the environmental outcomes we will achieve on a watershed basis.

The principles we have developed are now being applied to other areas of permitting in both the public and private sectors. Real projects are being constructed today using these priciples. If re-elected my goals are to continue the efforts of permit streamlining with TPEAC and to help develop a new initiative to make permit streamlining available to all.
